Tiger of Sweden Spring 2010
Jan 13, 2010
With head offices located in Stockholm, this European company has taken the suit “from the bank to the street”. Originating in 1903, they have been around long enough to see the evolution of tailor made suits to fashionable and ready-to-wear. The catchy company name comes from a popular suit designed in the 20s called the Tiger. They continue to develop sharp suits with modern twists while still incorporating classic style.
Tiger of Sweden has launched their Spring 2010 campaign following the artistic direction taken since the 20s, surrealism combined with their core Rock n’ Roll values. This plays out in their collection dominated by blue and red. The suits we will see this season are sharp and short, coming in two and four button models. On the flip side the one button blazer offers a longer and more elegant look. Upcoming outerwear consists of classic shapes, the single and double breasted overcoat, Harrington and the bomber jacket. The trousers come in cigarette or pegged styles. Fabrics range from high-tech synthetics and washed cottons to luxurious wool blends, pinstripe and salt and pepper. Interest and texture is added to classic looks through melange effect, bonded or double-faced, seersucker, lightweight crepes and satin fabrics.
Derks has already seen their first shipment of suits and blazers for spring 2010 and this is only the beginning. If you are looking for something new, with a modern look and European fit, Tiger of Sweden is the way to go.
