Wool: will is the most popular natural fibre for suits. The properties of warmth, drape and the finished appearance make it ideal for all types of formal wear. Suits and jackets made from wool should be dry-cleaned as washing a wool suit can be very detrimental to the fabric, the lining and the internal construction of the garment. You can maintain the appearance of wool by hanging in on a correctly-fitting hanger when not in use. Gentle ironing at a moderate setting is also recommended to help maintain the crisp appearance. Don’t forget your trouser press to retain the crease!
Cotton: pure cotton is most notable for the coolness of the fabric and the softness in the wear. To maintain a crisp appearance for cotton, occasional pressing is needed. When ironing, if the fabric is too dry, creases are a lot harder to remove. Introduce moisture when pressing by using steam, a light mister or a damp cloth. Pure cotton garments should be hung or folded with care.
Silk/Linen: when these two fabrics combine in one garment the result is fantastic! The coolness of linen with the sheen, lustre and draping qualities of silk make a garment with this blend a must-have for your wardrobe. The fabric is suitable for warm weather and for a semi-formal function in warmer temperatures. These garments should be dry-cleaned. Creasing is a natural characteristic of the linen content in this fabric and occasional ironing will be needed to help maintain the appearance of your garment. Use a steam iron and a slightly damp cloth for the best results.
Wool/Cotton/Lycra: combining these three together creates a luxury product – a degree of elegance, comfort and informality is achieved. These garment had good shape retention are cool and soft to wear. By taking good care of the garment, you have a product that looks great and is still comfortable and easily maintainable. Hang your garment on a well-fitting hanger when not in use. Suits and jackets should be professionally dry-cleaned.
