Skin Care

Your face is the first thing people have to base on impression on when they meet you. Start off on the right foot. Choosing the right moisturizer, using SPF protection, the right way to shave – all these factors play into your skin care routine.

When it comes to choosing a good moisturizer for your face you can start by experimenting with different creams and types to determine which one is best for your skin types and provides the best kind of results. The richer the cream is (in concentration and texture), generally the better it is for your skin. This also means that it might a little greasier, harder to apply and possible not so aesthetically pleasing. But there has been a lot of progress in this area. You can now find creams that are easy to apply and non-greasy, but they can cost you. A good facial cream should be rich in essential fatty acids and oils, vitamins and minerals, nutrients, antioxidants and have some level of SPF protection. Some great ingredients in a good moisturizer include:

Shea butter – known for its rich texture and strong hydrating properties. It penetrates the skin quickly which leaves your skin feeling smooth with no oily residue
Glycerin – present in all natural and synthetically manufactured fats. It is used in moisturizers because it attracts and retains the right amount of water to maintain balance in your skin.
Silicone – a slipper, water-based agent that offers long-lasting protection. Take care with this one because creams that have a high silicone content can leave your skin looking greasy.
Green tea – an excellent source of antioxidants. Green tea also has grape seed extract and both of these are becoming very popular as a cosmetic ingredient.
