The Perfect Shirt Wash

  1. Always read the labels.
  2. Sort and separate according to colour, check pockets, etc.
  3. Pre-treat and stains on the collars and cuffs.
  4. Load the machine, add detergent, bleach* (if required for whites) and softener**.
  5. Choose the correct cycle, temperature and time…the shorter the better.
  6. Set your dryer temperature accordingly, use Permanent Press if required. Air fluff works well for most shirts. Remove when damp.
  7. Iron immediately.
    * chlorine bleach can weaken fabric and damage colours, use sparingly
**white vinegar can double as a fabric softener
